Ramu (Bengali: রামু) is an Upazila of Cox's Bazar District in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh.Tradition historical events that have to Ramu Ramu is the name of the royal dynasty of Arakan. At the time of the conquest of Chittagong by the Mughals (1666) thirteen-meter high bronze statue of Buddha was found to Ramu. This is the largest of the Buddha statues so far discovered in Bangladesh. It is said that Ramachandra Ramkot met Sita after her abduction by Ravana, the mason used by Sita remained Ramkot once.
