Mymensingh (ময়মনসিংহ) is one of the districts of Dhaka division, Bangladesh, and borders the north by Meghalaya state of India and Garo Hills, on the south by Gazipur district, on the east by the districts of Netrokona and Kishoreganj, and on the west by districts of Sherpur, Jamalpur and Tangail. Mymensingh city is the county seat.
The district covers an area of about 4,363 km square, with several small valleys between high forests. The temperature ranges from 33 degrees to 12 degrees Celsius and the average annual rainfall of 2,174 mm
The staple crops of the country are rice, jute, sugarcane, wheat, oilseeds and pulse, betel leaf, karalla, sweet potato, turmeric, ginger, eggplant, cauliflower and chilli line . a branch of the East Bengal railway runs north from Dhaka through Nasirabad etc.
