Jhenidah (ঝিনাইদহ) is a district in southwestern Bangladesh. It is a part of Khulna Division. Is a square area of 1949.62 km. In the Northern Cape borders the Kushtia district in the north, south to the district of Jessore and West Bengal in the east by Rajbari District and Magura District and west Chuadanga District and West Bengal in the west.
At the beginning of British rule Jhenidah was a police station and turned into a thana in 1793. Jhenidah The subdivision was created in 1862 and became a district in 1984. It consists of six upazilas, five municipalities, 67 union Parishads, 945 mouzas 1152, the villages, wards 27 and 134 mahallas.
