Naogaon (নওগাঁ) is a district in northern Bangladesh. It is part of Rajshahi Division.
Today Naogaon District is regarded as the granary of Bangladesh. It is the center of the region Borendra, with an approximate area of 3,435.67 square kilometers, approximately 80% of those crops. The soil of the area is a fertile clay mineral called dhoyass.
The area's total population is about 25 lac, and most people in the area are farmers. The literacy rate is 44.39%. Crops in the district include rice, jute, wheat, corn, sugarcane, potatoes, pulses, oilseeds, eggplant, onion and garlic. Total production of rice and some in the period 2009-2010 was 13,58,432 tonnes, including a surplus of 8,26,835 tonnes. Today is the neighborhood of the top name on the side of rice production and has the highest number of rice mills in each district.about
