Chandpur (চাঁদপুর) is a district in eastern and central Bangladesh. It is situated at the mouth of the Meghna river. It is part of the Chittagong Division. The town of Chandpur is terminus of a meter gauge branch of Bangladesh Railways. It also has a water connection is here.
Chandpur district has a total area of 1704.06 square kilometers. It is bordered by Munshiganj district and Comilla district in the north, Noakhali District, District Lakshmipur and Barisal district in southern district of Comilla, east and Meghna River district of Shariatpur and Munshiganj district in the west.
Chandpur is the confluence of the Padma and Meghna River, which meet near the town of Chandpur. The main tributaries of the Meghna river flowing through Chandpur are Dakatia, Rio Dhanagoda, Matlab River Udhamdi river.
