The district of Dinajpur (দিনাজপুর জেলা) was a district of Bengal in British India, later after India's independence in 1947, was divided between India and Bangladesh.
Dinajpur District covering an area of 3,437.98 km ², is limited by Thakurgaon Panchagarh and districts in the north and joypurhat Gaibandha districts in the south, and Rangpur districts Nilphamari in the east, the Indian state of West Bengal, south west. The highest average and minimum temperature 33.5oC 10.5oC mm annual, annual rainfall of 2536. The main rivers are dhepa, punarbhaba, Kanchan and Atrai.
