Maheshkhali (Bengali: মহেশখালী) is an Upazila of Cox's Bazar District in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Maheshkhali Upazila (Cox Bazar district) with an area of 362.18 km2, is limited by Chakaria upazila on the north, Cox Bazar Sadar upazila and the Bay of Bengal in the south, and Cox's Bazar Chakaria sadar upazilas on the east, Kutubdia upazila and the Bay of Bengal in the west.
The eastern part of the upazila is separated from the mainland by the canal Maheshkhali. Maheshkhali (City) 1 conists Mouza with an area of 2.93 square kilometers. It has a population of 13,519, 54.54% male, 45.46% female. The population density per square kilometer is 4614. Literacy rate among the town people is 30.9%.
