Kathalia (Bengali: কাঁঠালিয়া ) is an Upazila of Jhalakati District in the Division of Barisal, Bangladesh. Kathalia (city) consists of two mouzas. The city area is 7.42 km ². The population of 8205 male 50.36%, female 49.64%, the population density of 1,106 inhabitants per km ². Literacy rate among the town people is 52.6%. The city has three dakbungalows.
