Galachipa (Bengali: গলাচিপা ) is an Upazila of Patuakhali District in the Division of Barisal, Bangladesh. Galachipa (Town) consists of 9 wards and mahallas 8. The city area is 9.6 km ². It has a population of 17,547, 53.17% male, 46.83% female. The population density of 1,828 people per square kilometer.
The literacy rate among the town people is 43.97%. It has two dakbungalows. Historical events Rakhains A group of the atrocities of the Burmese king fled to the island Rangabali Galachipa upazila and settled there in 1784. This Rakhains are reported to have been the first inhabitants of the island. During the liberation war in 1971, three members of the Pak army were killed in a clash between the Pak army and the freedom fighters Panpatti people. Pack the peoples army CHiKANi Dakua Kandi and attacks on May 8, 29 villagers killed and looted some houses.
