Chakaria (Bengali: চকোরিয়া) is an Upazila of Cox's Bazar District in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Chakaria Upazila (Cox Bazar district) with an area of ​​643.46 km ², bordering lohagara, banshkhali and Lama upazilas on the north, Sadar Bazar Cox, and Ramu upazilas on the south, and naikhongchhari Lama upazilas on the east, mahesh khali and Kutubdia upazila on the west. The upazila is surrounded by Matamuhuri Matamuhuri Bara, Mahesh and Canal Kutubdia Khali. The upazila often victims of cyclone and storm surge. The devastating cyclone and tidal wave of April 29, 1991 caused severe damage to the upazila with a balance of 16,705 people.
