Charghat (চারঘাট) is an Upazila of Rajshahi district in Rajshahi Division, Bangladesh.Charghat on the banks of river Padma. It is the only Sardah Police Academy and a school of cadets. Charghat Pourashava was declared in 1998. Md Anwar Hossain was the first president. Charghat is known for its industry Khoer. The handles are produced here in abundance. The town is famous Charghat Mokterpur. A sand mine is located here. Rajshahi Cadet College is here.It has 30.799 units of house hold and total area 164.52 km ². Since 1991 Bangladesh census Charghat has a population of 163,862. Males constitute are 51.62% of the population, and females 48.38%. Eighteen of the population of the upazila is 82,597. Charghat has an average of 26.6% and the national average of 32.4% literate.
