Tungipara (টুংগীপাড়া) is an Upazila of Gopalganj District in the Division of Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the birthplace of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who is considered the father of the nation and founder of independent Bangladesh Bangladesh.As census in 1991, Tungipara has a population of 88,102. Males constitute are 51.25% of the population, and females 48.75%. Eighteen of the population of the upazila is 42,147. Tungipara has an average of 63.3% and the national average of 32.4% literate. People from all walks of Tungipara payment of its response to Bangobandhu began to fight Pakistan's rulers before independence.
