Thakurgaon Sadar (Bengali: ঠাকুরগাঁও সদর) is an Upazila of Thakurgaon District in the Division of Rangpur, Bangladesh. Thakurgaon (Town) consists of 9 wards and 23 mahallas. The city area is 10.70 km ². The city has a population of 40,336, 51.62% male, 48.38% female; 3770 the population density per km ².
Literacy rate among the town people is 58.5%. Event tebhaga movement spread in Thakurgaon expanded. During movement Tebhaga 35 peasants were killed and many injured when police fired on a procession. Direct meetings between the freedom fighters and the Pak army Bhulli, Garaya and Salandar. The Pak army massacre took place in the area.
