Gangachara (Bengali: গঙ্গাছড়া) is an Upazila of Rangpur District in the Division of Rangpur, Bangladesh. Gangachara (city) comprises two mouzas. It has an area of 9.86 square kilometers. The city has a population of 12,600, 52.02% male, 47.98% female. The population density of 1,278 people per square kilometer. Literacy rate among the town people is 28.6%. Gangachara is known for the production of snuff. Literacy and literacy education institutions average 22.4%, men 29%, women 15.1%. School: College 5, 26 secondary, five junior high school, madrasa 33, government primary school 84, non-government primary school 77, kindergarten 1, 5 community schools, music school and a satellite school 18.
